Entegrity’s security products include the AssureDelivery file content security solution for all types of files sent over trusted or untrusted networks—including database records, PDF files, raw binary data, XML, images, even streaming media. Entegrity chose Jini technology—Sun’s infrastructure for building robust, networked infrastructures—to obtain fault tolerance for the AssureDelivery solution.

Jini technology is the only technology in the market today that enables the creation of adaptive networks. “Jini technology provides AssureDelivery components with a dynamic method of discovering each other, called a lookup service,” explains David Horvath, director of product development at Entegrity Solutions Corporation. “It also notifies the components when services come online and go offline. The cost of manually implementing what Jini network technology is providing us would have been prohibitive both from an actual cost perspective (person-hours to build) and time perspective (time-to-market). Jini technology’s increasingly mature and well-documented capabilities would be very difficult to reproduce. Because AssureDelivery is an inherently distributed product, the option of a pure Java environment to build the product made the choice of Jini technology straightforward.”
