Key Benefits
  • With COD, customers can specify additional processor/memory boards to be available on demand and pay for these resources when actually used.

  • COD CPU/memory boards can be configured into Sun Fire servers at a lower up front cost and the remainder of the CPU/memory board cost is not paid until the resources are used (by ordering COD RTU licenses).

  • COD Right To Use (RTU) licenses are ordered separately (per CPU) for use of the COD CPUs and related memory.

  • The COD system software provides the enforcement and eliminates the need for any remote reporting of system usage or monitoring.

  • T-COD allows customers to change computing capacity as resource requirements change. (T-COD not available on SPARC Enterprise M-series servers)

  • If a T-COD RTU license is purchased for six consecutive months, the customer will receive a permanent COD 2.0 RTU license. (T-COD not available on SPARC Enterprise M-series servers)
