Migration Methodology

Sun experts have documented migration best practices in the book, Migrating to the Solaris Operating System: The Discipline of UNIX-to-UNIX Migrations. Published through the Sun BluePrints Program, this book articulates an established methodology for transitioning people, processes, and technologies in an IT environment to the Solaris Operating System. It steps you through the various phases of the migration process, using detailed case studies to illustrate the benefits, costs, and requirements associated with a migration project. Although this book focuses on UNIX server migrations, the methodology and best practices presented apply for most migrations to the Solaris environment.
