Enabling Technology and Features

The Sun XVR-1200 graphics accelerator delivers high-quality graphics images, a wide range of functionality, and the performance necessary for professionals working individually or in small workgroups.

Quality
The Sun XVR-1200 graphics accelerator provides industry-leading image quality with features such as:

  • Adaptive Full Scene Antialiasing with up to 16 samples per pixel
  • Excellent 24-bit color fidelity and 10-bit gamma correction
  • Super-high resolution 2-D, 3-D, and stereo resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 @ 75 Hz
  • Supports 3-D at up to 1920 x 1200 @ 75 Hz with full 24-bit color, double buffering and Z-buffering
  • Over 400 MB of on-board memory (128 MB frame buffer, 256 MB texture memory, 32 MB display list memory) for sophisticated applications

Combined with a powerful, fully-functional OpenGL pipeline, these features are designed to help enable one of the highest-quality images available on workstations today.

Functionality
The Sun XVR-1200 graphics accelerator provides a wide range of functionality. The following features are supported:

  • Full framelock support for multiple frame buffers driving multiple displays
  • Dual DVI-I interfaces support for two displays from a single graphics frame buffer
  • DVI-I interface providing both digital and analog video output
  • 10 bit gamma correction for an extra level of color correction compensation that provides more accurate color representation on a wider range of displays
  • Dual stereo graphics at 1280 x 1024 @ 112 Hz
  • Wide range of display resolutions in hardware support monitors, projectors, and other display output devices
  • 8 bit overlay plane with a maximum 192 total planes
