Overview

The Sun XVR-500 graphics accelerator is an affordable graphics card for demanding 3-D applications that require fast geometry and texture-mapping performance. It offers even better performance, quality, and value than its predecessor, the Sun Expert3D-Lite graphics accelerator.

The cost-effective Sun XVR-500 graphics accelerator provides sophisticated 3-D graphics and texture-mapping capabilities and flexible functionality that allow you to more accurately visualize, analyze, and interpret data. As a result, you can work more efficiently and productively.

Running on the mature and tested SPARC® processor and Solaris platform of Sun Blade 1000 and Sun Blade 2000 workstations, and Sun Fire V880 servers, the Sun XVR-500 graphics accelerator supports the industry-standard Sun OpenGL® for Solaris API and the Java 3D API. All existing applications using these APIs will run on the Sun XVR-500 graphics accelerator.

The Sun XVR-500 graphics accelerator is the ideal choice for professionals in the mechanical design and analysis (MCAD/MCAE), electronic design automation (EDA), geotechnical engineering and geographic information systems (GIS), education, general science, visualization, and health care industries who want an affordable, high-performance, high-resolution, hardware-accelerated graphics accelerator.
