OverviewThe SunPCi IIIpro coprocessor card is a cost-effective, hardware-based solution for Sun systems that allows the sharing of data, peripherals, and network connections between Microsoft Windows and the Solaris Operating System. In addition to its own Ethernet port, the card also supports the sharing of Sun system's Ethernet ports for increased networking flexibility. Three USB 2.0 ports and a 1394a port, as well as serial and parallel ports, provide support for PC-standard I/O devices such as digital media devices, keyboards, mice, storage, and printers. Windows application support and connectivity on Sun systems alongside Solaris applications saves space, energy, and system management costs, while helping to improve personal productivity. Best of all, the SunPCi IIIpro coprocessor card leverages Sun's biggest strength, reliable and robust network computing. InteroperabilityThe SunPCi IIIpro coprocessor card enables full simultaneous compatibility between the Solaris Operating System and Microsoft Windows and Red Hat. It allows access to Windows technical and productivity applications and Red Hat, whether off-the-shelf or developed in-house, via the same monitor, keyboard, and mouse. PerformanceThe SunPCi IIIpro coprocessor card, with AMD Athlon XP 2100+ 1.6-GHz mobile processor and 256 MB standard RAM with support of up to 1 GB, provides the performance to run demanding applications at native PC speeds. Multiple boards are supported in a single system. Multiple boards allows you to have several PC's in the same desk space for running several OS'es simultaneously, thus increasing productivity and efficiency. Functionality
