Java EE

You want more examples. We added new examples for Java EE 5, Web Services Interoperability, and Sun Web Developer Pack.

We made information easier to find:

  • Bundled the First Cup tutorial with the Java EE SDK as well as make it available online.
  • Added references from the Java EE Tutorial to relevant Application Server samples.
  • Mapped Java EE Tutorial content to learning objectives for the EE certification training.
  • Created the Java EE Security page.
We made these changes for the novice user:

  • Created a First Cup tutorial for developers new to the Java EE platform
  • Created blogs with introductory material in them
  • Created an introductory chapter on security in Java EE tutorial.

Java SE

We updated tutorials by providing the following:

We responded to your request for a revised diagram of the Java Platform.

NetBeans

In response to feedback you provided on our Developer websites, we made the following changes:

  • Simplified the Quick Start doc.
  • Provided Learning Trails, which provide a more comprehensible progression from beginning topics to intermediate and advanced topics.
  • Compiled a single downloadable zip file of most of the web documentation.
  • Enhanced web documents to more clearly communicate procedures.
