Sun's configuration and service tracker (CST) is a Web-enabled application designed to help achieve higher levels of system availability. The software continuously tracks critical hardware and software events that occur on monitored systems over time, so that Sun system administrators can perform root cause analysis, track system availability, detect system configuration changes, and more. Maintaining historical data can help understand the system behaviour, which can lead to greater system availability and serviceability.

• Improved application availability event detection (application up/down) for Sun Java Enterprise Applications
• Enhanced custom info (user-definiable fields)
• Multi-protocol transport layer allows use of either UDP(RPC) or TCP between the agents and the server
• Scalability enhancements in site registration
