SunPlex High Availability (HA) Agent for PostgreSQL database provides high availability and scalability resulting in increased service levels of the PostgreSQL database.

• This agent manages orderly startup, shutdown and fault monitoring of PostgreSQL database.
• It provides the ability to include a PostgreSQL database in a more complex HA solution by supporting dependencies between the different components of the solution.
• The HA Agent for PostgresSQL has also the ability to failover PostgreSQL database from a Solaris container on one node to another container on a different node. This allows to leverage Solaris Containers and Sun Cluster technology to achieve consolidation and higher service availability.

The SunPlex HA Agent for PostgreSQL database requires the following software levels:

• SPARC(R) Platforms: Solaris 8, Solaris 9 and Solaris 10
• x86 Platforms: Solaris 9 x86 and Solaris 10 for x86-x64
• PostgreSQL versions 7.3.x, 8.0.x and 8.1.x
• Sun Cluster version 3.0 5/02 and all versions of Sun Cluster 3.1
