Sun Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Software allows organizations to deploy a secure, resilient, and available desktop environment because the desktop never leaves the datacenter. Users can access their centralized desktops from a wide range of supported client devices, including Windows PCs and Sun Ray virtual display clients. A variety of networks are supported, from LAN to WAN or the public Internet.

New in Sun Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Software 2.0 is the Sun Virtual Desktop Connector. This component provides a bridge between Sun Virtual Desktop Solutions access technologies (Sun Ray technology, Sun Secure Global Desktop Software, and Sun Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Software) and a virtualization back-end provided by VMware Infrastructure 3. It assists with the management and assignment of Microsoft Windows virtual desktop environments running on virtual machines to users of Sun Ray virtual display clients and other popular client devices.
