Built-in file verification system works with Sun Download Center (SDLC).

SDM works in conjunction with SDLC to verify most large files as they download. If any "piece" of the large file fails the checksum test, that segment is automatically retransmitted (not the whole file again).

No more wasting time and bandwidth repeating all-or-nothing downloads – even the largest files should download successfully on the first try.

Resumable downloads

Pause downloads when needed, then resume at a more convenient time, right where you left off. SDM also recovers automatically from dropped Internet connections and other outages and faults.

Using Sun's Java Web Start technology (which is built-in to newer versions of Java Runtime Environment), you can download, install, and start-up SDM directly from the Sun Download Center download page. Just select the files you want, then click the "Download selected with Sun Download Manager" button. No separate download and installation of SDM needed!

Drag and drop links into SDM

To add files to download, just click, drag, and drop the download links from the download page into the SDM file list.

SDM's built-in unzip routine uncompresses zip files automatically and in the background.

File compression minimizes the time and bandwidth necessary to download large files without extra steps on your part.

Full Proxy Server support

In SDM's Options window, specify the proxy server and port to use for HTTP and FTP downloads. SDM also supports authentication for proxies that require a username and password.

Use SDM with most corporate firewalls and proxy servers, even in more secure environments protected by authenticated proxy servers.

Support for Authenticated Hosts

Another available Option is to save a list of your favorite sites that require authentication (username and password) for access.

Do multiple downloads without the need to retype your username and password every time. SDM matches the site name to the stored authenticated hosts list, and automatically logs you in.

Download file list

Easily add, remove and manage multiple files in the download list. Load up the list, then download all the files with one click of the Start button.

No need to stand by waiting for each download to complete before starting the next. Everything is handled automatically.

Re-order download sequence

Re-order the files in the download list to control the order in which they're downloaded. (Highlight a file, then use Ctrl+UpArrow to move it up the list or Ctrl+DownArrow to move down.)

Added flexibility allows you to download files in whatever order best meets your needs.

Dynamic file renaming

For sites with non-standard download links, SDM can often fix file names on the fly so they're saved correctly.

Allows SDM to be used on more sites while ensuring you receive a correctly named file.
