Sun Download Manager 2.0 (SDM) is a small (less than 300 KB), 100% Java application that insures a successful download experience. We highly recommend using SDM for all your Sun downloads. Benefits include:
Pause and resume downloads at any time.
If your Internet connection is lost, your browser or system
crashes, or you need to stop downloading for any reason, you can resume
right where you left off. No need to start over again, saving you
valuable time and bandwidth.
SDM's built-in file verification system works with Sun Download Center (SDLC) to automatically recover from any file corruption during downloading -- you always receive an exact copy of the original file.
SDM uses Java
Web Start (JaWS) technology to quickly download, install, and run automatically -- give it a try!
Read and Accept the software license agreement on the SDLC download page.
Select the files you wish to download:
Click within any individual table(s) to select all
the files within that table (and click it again to deselect all), or
Select (or deselect) files individually by checking the box next to the file name.
Once you've completed your selections, click to begin.
If you've never run this version of SDM before, follow these steps:
You may be asked to Open or Save the jnlp file that launches SDM. Select Open.
If you only see an option to Save, save the file to your desktop, then double-click it to continue.
For your security, SDM is a digitally signed application. If
you see a Security Warning, click Always to accept the security
certificate.
Accept the option to create a Desktop Icon which you can use to restart SDM in the future (not available on all platforms).
Read and accept the SDM Software License Agreement.
Complete the Options screens to set your preferences.
If you connect through a proxy server, be sure to complete the Proxies tab.
SDM will begin with all selected files loaded and ready to
download. Just click Start to begin downloading.
If you've previously installed this version of SDM, it
will start automatically with all selected files loaded and ready to
download. Just click Start to begin downloading.
To add more files to SDM after it starts:
Click the file link on the SDLC download page, then drag-and-drop it to SDM's file list area,
or
Right-click the file link and select Copy Shortcut or Copy Link, then
Paste it into the file list, or
Select SDM's Add button to type in the URL manually.
For complete SDM usage information, click Help on the SDM menu bar,
then Online Help.
For best performance, we recommend using the latest version of JRE. Visit java.com to upgrade.
A "stand-alone" version of SDM 2.0 is also available.
Use SDM version 1.3 if you run a JRE version lower than 1.4.2. (Note: Stand-alone versions will not launch automatically from the SDLC download page.)
Support and Troubleshooting
It is not required to use SDM. If you have trouble running SDM or
don't wish to use it, just click the file link to download directly
through your browser.
