A: Type your question into the Ask a Question box, and click on the Submit button. The appropriate expert will address your question.
Q: Do I have to ask questions or can I just be an observer in the chat?
A: You can either participate in the conversation by submitting your questions through the user input/question field or you can observe the conversation and gather valuable information and insight.
Q: What should I do if I am having technical difficulties with the chat interface?
A: Please send an e-mail to expertexchange@sun.com. Please specifically describe the errors or challenges you are experiencing with the chat experience and include specific browser and OS information.
Q: How do I exit a chat?
A: Simply close your browser or choose "Exit" under File menu.
Q: How do I get access to the transcripts?
A: A follow-up e-mail will be sent to you within 48 hours of the live event. This e-mail will contain a link to the transcript. In addition, all chat transcripts will be posted on the Expert Exchange landing page at sun.com/expertexchange.
Q: How do I invite others members within my organization to join the live chat event?
A: On the landing page you will find a "Tell a Friend" link. Simply click that link, submit the recipient's e-mail address and an invitation will be delivered to that person.
Q: How do I register for a future Expert Exchange event?
A: Simply access the following URL, sun.com/expertexchange, to sign up for a coming event or access previous event transcripts.
Q: What is a chat session?
A: It is an Internet-based communication tool that uses text-based messaging as the medium of communication. Chat rooms allow you to view and participate in on-going conversations in a physical room. A room is a window in which text is displayed in real time.
Q: How do I join a live chat event?
A: Simply click on the URL provided in your reminder message after registration and enter the following information on the log in page and you will be placed in the appropriate chat room.
User Name/Screen Name (this name will appear to event moderators and when your question is pushed to the larger event audience)
