The latest version of the OpenSolaris OS is almost ready for release. Highlights of 2008.11 include:
»  Desktop additions: GNOME 2.24 with ZFS snapshot for easy file restore, Firefox 3, Songbird, XChat IRC, Transmission BitTorrent Client
»  IPS improvements: improved search, mirroring of network repositories, and the addition of the first phase of a client API
»  Suspend & Resume has been added for a limited number of platforms
»  200+ packages added to the repository
