New This Year

Even if you've attended a JavaOne Conference before, this year's event offers new sessions that couldn't be more timely. Java Technology Business Day is designed for business and marketing leaders at companies delivering Java technology-based products, including software, hardware, content, and services. TV Day is for Java developers who would like to learn more about the exciting content development opportunities in the digital television market. At JavaOne Camp, you give your own talk or vote on a talk you would like to hear more about. It's your chance to share with your peers, whether in a collaborative setting or from an instructional setting.

JavaOne Learning

As a JavaOne attendee, you'll have an opportunity to advance your development skills in a stimulating, mind-expanding environment. Experience hundreds of expert-led, in-depth technical sessions and Birds-of-a-Feather sessions (BOFs) over the course of four days.

Take part in technically oriented sessions from experienced movers and shakers of our industry, including sessions and panels on the latest developments in evolving technologies.

Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) sessions are offered in the evenings in an informal setting, as an extension of technical content. These sessions, which focus on a particular topic, allow you to collaborate with experts and your peers on that particular topic. BOFs can be a roundtable setting or more instructional similar to a technical session.

In addition, session tracks will provide real-world guidance on the latest applications of Java technology. Here are just a few:

Consumer Technologies: Exciting technologies are making the transition from research labs to the consumer marketplace.

The Next-Generation Web: The Web has entered the next stage of its development (also known as Web 2.0,) a second generation of online services built on wide-scale sharing and participation.

Open Source: Open Source development adds a new dimension to Java code, its communities, and its users.

Tools and Languages: Learn how to apply traditional Java programming environment tools and new scripting languages to enhance productivity for developing for and deploying to the Java platform.
