Software Freedom Day 2008
Software Freedom Day is an annual global effort to educate consumers and organizations about the virtues of these technologies and to provide free software to students. Continuing its commitment to open source technologies, Sun is sponsoring Software Freedom Day 2008 events at 130 technical universities and educational institutions worldwide.
This year's SFD celebration will include OpenSolaris "installfests" designed to teach students and other attendees about Sun's open source operating system. Sun executives will also speak at some events, and Sun will be hosting global events for employees and community members.
