Procedure for Approval for Destruction of Trade-In Equipment:
End Users must return trade-in equipment to Sun within 90-days of Sun's ship date. In some cases, end users may have information/security regulations requiring them to destroy trade-in equipment, rather than return it to Sun. Sun has provided a "Certificate of Destruction" to accommodate these special cases. The end user/reseller MUST have approval from Sun prior to destroying the equipment.
The end user completes the "Certificate of Destruction" in detail and faxes to his/her Sun Sales Representative.
List RMA numbers corresponding to the equipment being destroyed on this form.
The Sun Sales Representative sends the completed certificate to the Sun Area Controller/Finance Manager for a final approval signature.
The Sun Area Controller/Finance Manager returns the approved Certificate of Destruction to the Sun Sales Representative.
The Sun Sales Representative must fax a copy of approved "Certificate of Destruction" to the end user/reseller and the IBB Upgrade Returns team at (925) 829-9921.
The IBB Upgrade Returns team updates the RMA database to reflect approval for destruction of trade-in equipment.
End User/Reseller purchase through Channel Distribution Partner (CDP):
The end user completes the "Certificate of Destruction" in detail and faxes to his/her Sun Sales Representative.
List RMA numbers corresponding to the equipment being destroyed on this form.
The Sun Sales Representative sends the completed certificate to the Sun Area Controller/Finance Manager for a final approval signature.
The Sun Area Controller/Finance Manager returns the approved Certificate of Destruction to the Sun Sales Representative.
The Sun Sales Representative must fax a copy of approved "Certificate of Destruction" to the end user/reseller and the IBB Upgrade Returns team at (925) 829-9921.
The IBB Upgrade Returns team updates the RMA database to reflect approval for destruction of trade-in equipment and informs CDP by email.
