To take even better advantage of your market opportunities, Sun's Extended Availability Program (EAP) offers the opportunity to extend product lifecycles up to 24 months after the last ship date of a specific product.

The Need for Longer Product Life Cycles

Over the years, Sun has established a well-deserved reputation for delivering cutting-edge technology. This reputation has been earned through constant innovation and improvement across the entire spectrum of its product line. However, many customers build a strong and effective business on an existing set of Sun products and may need more time to upgrade their application to the latest technology. They need longer product cycles and stability to support their product migration. In response to this need, Sun created the EAP.

In addition to longer product life cycles, the EAP allows for better communication about planning and product transition. When you meet with your Sun Account Manager, you can make an explicit plan for extending the lifecycle of the products on which your business depends, as well as a transition plan for upgrading to new products. This improved product planning enables greater business stability and increased cost-effectiveness.
