OEM Early Access

A key requirement of the OEM customer is the ability to get new products as early as possible so they can incorporate the latest technology into their product to minimize time to market. Sun Microsystems supports this concept using three interrelated mechanisms: the OEM Loaner Program, OEM Program Management, and OEM Engineering. The combination of these three elements will maximize the OEM customers' efforts integrating Sun's technology.

The OEM Loaner Program allows the OEM customer to gain access to Sun's new products before those products are available to the general public. By having an early fully qualified version of the product, the OEM customers can test their application, make any modifications to their application if needed, and be ready to go to market as soon as Sun releases that product. This minimizes time to market for the OEM customer.

During the integration process, depending on the complexity of the application, the OEM customer may take advantage of the OEM Program Management process. This offers the OEM customer a focal point within Sun to get issues resolved, to get integration requirements coordinated, and to maintain aligned schedules. The OEM customer is also kept up-to-date with any product changes that occur during the integration activity.

Along with OEM Program Management, the OEM customer has access to Sun's OEM Engineering organization to help resolve technical issues encountered during integration. OEM Engineering can help the OEM customer understand the new products and aid them in the most effective way of implementation. This results in improved implementation times resulting in faster time to market for the OEM customer.

With the opportunity to access products through the OEM Loaner Program, availability of overall OEM Program Management, and access to OEM Engineering, OEM Early Access is a key benefit to the OEM customer.
