The Need for Longer Product Life Cycles

However, many customers build a strong and effective business on an existing set of Sun products and do not wish to upgrade to the latest technology. They need longer product cycles and stability. In response to this need, Sun created the EAP.

In addition to longer product life cycles, the EAP encourages better communication about planning and product transition. When you meet with your Sun Account Manager, you can make an explicit plan for extending the lifecycle of the products on which your business depends, as well as a transition plan for upgrading to new products. This improved product planning enables greater business stability and increased cost-effectiveness.
