Sun Partner Advantage Program

The Sun Partner Advantage Program allows you to collaborate with Sun to help create demand and leverage Sun's entire portfolio of offerings. Program participants can be those interested in creating technology that deploys on Sun, partners interested in selling with Sun, or both.


Partner Types

The Sun Partner Advantage Program is based on progressive membership levels and addresses a wide range of partner engagement models. The program is highly flexible and offers many choices for investment based on your business needs.

Independent Software Vendors (and other companies such as SIs, ASPs, Web Developers, etc.)
Independent Software Vendors

Partners that create and/or sell software. Applications can be sold as services, shrink-wrapped, through licensing, or as an integrated solution that can include hardware and services (appliances). Available to:

  • Independent software vendors (ISVs)
  • Global solution providers (GSPs)
  • System integrators (SIs)
  • Value added integrators (VAIs)
  • Internet service providers (ISPs)
  • Independent hardware vendors (IHVs)
  • Application service providers (ASPs) including Software as a Service (SaaS)

Channel Partners
Channel Partners

Partners that are authorized to sell solutions that utilize Sun products and services. Solutions can range from a simple sale via a telemarketing sales model to a highly complex sale involving integration and pre and post-sale customer support. Available to:

  • Application providers
  • Direct marketers
  • Registered resellers
  • Service providers
  • Systems integrators (SIs)
  • Value-added resellers (VARs)

Partners authorized by Sun to purchase or license Sun products as an original equipment manufacturer and to include those Sun products as an integral part of OEM products. Available to:

  • Embedded OEM
  • Attached OEM
  • OTP or OEM technology provider
