The SunPKI is Sun Microsystems Inc.'s Public Key Infrastructure. Since early 2006 all of SunPKI Certification Authorities (CAs) are hosted at and managed by VeriSign within the framework of VeriSign Trust Network (VTN). SunPKI CAs issue several types of end entity certificates in the name of Sun Microsystems, Inc. The CAs are administered by Sun's PKI administrators. All the auxiliary components of SunPKI hosted at Sun (registration authorities, key archival, some of the user facing pages, etc.) are implemented using Sun's hardware, Solaris Operating System, Sun Java System Web Server, Sun Java System Directory Server, as well as VeriSign's software for Managed PKI. Information on the SunPKI pages is intended to be useful to relying parties who want more information on the SunPKI. The Certification Authorities page contains information about SunPKI CAs and their trust anchors - VeriSign's Public Primary CAs (PPCAs). It also makes the certificates of SunPKI CAs and the certificates of their trust anchor PPCAs available for download. The End Entity Certificates page contains information about all the types of end entity certificates issued by SunPKI, and includes detailed definitions of certificate subject naming, content (including extensions) and validity periods for each of the certificate types. The definitions also include the URLs of the VeriSign sites providing revocation information (via CRLs and OCSP) for SunPKI end entity certificates. The Certification Practice Statement page contains the information about VeriSign's VTN Certification Practice Statement (CPS) that applies to SunPKI. If there are specific questions you have that are not answered on this page, please send an e-mail to Sun's PKI administrators. VeriSign is a registered trademark of VeriSign, Inc.
