Serving as the system controller in a CompactPCI (cPCI) configuration, the Netra CP2140 system controller board provides exceptional levels of performance and reliability for network equipment providers, telecommunications companies, and others in embedded industrial environments.

Built around a 650-MHz UltraSPARC IIi processor, 512 KB of cache, and up to 2 GB of memory, the Netra CP2140 board offers a rugged, high-performance form factor and high memory density. With support for PICMG (PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group) standards such as high availability (HA) hot-swap functionality, the Netra CP2140 system controller allows for superior levels of reliability and availability.

The Netra CP2140 board is integrated as the system controller in Netra CT 410 and 810 systems. The combination of the Netra CP2140 board as a host and the Netra cPCI 2160 board as a satellite with the Netra CT 410 and 810 servers provides a reliable, industry-standard, off-the-shelf platform for industrial applications.

High Performance
The Netra CP2140 board features a 650-MHz UltraSPARC IIi processor with 512 KB of Level 2 cache and up to 4 GB of memory, making it ideal for high-performance, embedded, compute-dense applications. UltraSPARC technology delivers substantial data throughput while maintaining complete binary compatibility in an industry-standard package. The large memory capacity enables hosting of larger applications, supporting more users, accommodating spikes in demand, preserving data, and contributing to immediate and constant access to data.

Flexibility
Extremely flexible and modular, the Netra CP2140 board allows for easy installation and configuration and can be easily integrated into telecommunications, service provider, industrial, and other embedded environments.

For network flexibility and investment protection, a PCI mezzanine card (PMC) slot enables mixing and matching of third-party PMC products, allowing solutions to be tailored for specific application needs and expanding options for multiprotocol I/O interfaces.

The integrated, dual-channel fast Ethernet assists in installation, maintenance, and service by faciliating network connectivity and enabling immediate deployment of services, helping increase network flexibility and availability.

Reliability
The carrier-grade Netra CP2140 board offers NEBS Level 3 compliance, contributes to continuous operation in less-than-ideal conditions, such as earthquake Zone 4 environments, and complies with regulatory regulations for deployment in central telco office environments. NEBS Level 3 compliance also means that the robust and reliable Netra CP2140 board has passed tests showing that it can tolerate extremes of temperature and humidity, operate in environments where there is dust, pollutants, or other air contaminants, retard fire, and resist other electrical hazards.

The Netra CP2140 board runs the the Solaris 8 or 9 Operating System, which provides exceptional investment protection and can reduce support, maintenance, and training costs. The Solaris OS is a rock-solid, highly-scalable platform that offers 100% binary compatibility with previous versions of the Solaris OS and Solaris applications. You can develop applications on a commercial workstation or server and deploy them into the network infrastructure without modification.
