Overview

This product has reached end-of-life and is no longer orderable. It is superceded by the next generation products.

Providing exceptional levels of performance, the Netra CP2160 CompactPCI (cPCI) single-board computer is ideal for demanding telecommunications and embedded applications. The Netra CP2160 board can function either as a system controller, a satellite in a cPCI configuration, or a standalone, single-board computer in an embedded environment. It delivers processing power while offloading I/O-intensive functions from the main host processor.

Powered by a 650-MHz UltraSPARC IIi processor, the Netra CP2160 single-board computer features a wide range of I/O interfaces, two PMC slots, and memory expansion of up to 2 GB-providing you with the flexibility to tailor applications to specific solution needs. Different levels of availability are available through support for basic, full, and high availability (HA) under the hot-swap PICMG (PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group) specifications.

The Netra CP2160 board is ideal for use as a satellite processor board within Netra CT 410 and 810 systems with a Netra CP2140 CompactPCI board acting as the host processing board.

Flexibility

The Netra CP2160 board is extremely flexible and modular, allowing for easy installation, configuration and integration into telecommunications, service provider, industrial, and other embedded environments.

For network flexibility and investment protection, two PCI mezzanine card (PMC) slots enable mixing and matching of third-party PMC products, allowing solutions to be tailored for specific application needs and expanding options for multiprotocol I/O interfaces.

The integrated, dual-channel fast Ethernet assists in installation, maintenance, and service by faciliating network connectivity and enabling immediate deployment of services—helping increase network flexibility and availability.

Reliability
With NEBS Level 3 compliance, the carrier-grade Netra CP2160 board contributes to continuous operation in less-than-ideal conditions, such as earthquake Zone 4 environments, and complies with regulatory regulations for deployment in central telco office environments. NEBS Level 3 compliance also means that the robust and reliable Netra CP2160 board has passed tests showing that it can tolerate extremes of temperature and humidity, operate in environments where there is dust, pollutants, or other air contaminants, retard fire, and resist other electrical hazards.
