TACC/Sun Maverick Visualization System The University of Texas at Austin's Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) has in full production Sun's Remote Visualization Grid solution driven by our E25K with 128 cores (UltraSPARC IV), 512 GB memory and accessible through Sun Grid Engine scheduling - 8 Nvidia Quadro FX 3000G AGP 8x graphics cards. UT's visualization system, called Maverick, is available for use to U.S. researchers requesting TeraGrid ("NPACI") resources. UT and NPACI / TeraGrid users are invited to the May 19th Maverick hands-on class (http://www.tacc.utexas.edu/services/training/) More Maverick / Sun architecture details can be viewed at Computational Biology Code Warriors: YOU'RE INVITED! HANDS ON ENGINEERING WEBCAST SERIES FOR PARTNERS MAY 5: Dynamic Tracing Topic: DTrace Partner/ISV Engineering Webinar DTrace, a new feature in the Solaris 10 Operating System, adds over 30,000 dynamic instrumentation points in the kernel enabling light weight event tracing. Safe to use on both production and development systems, with DTrace you can instrument your applications dynamically, without modifying code, making it easy to monitor and tune applications or systems for best performance.
