The EduSoft Academic Edition media kit is no longer available for purchase. The replacement to the program is Solaris Enterprise System and Solaris Service Plans.
The September - December 2006 EduSoft Academic Edition Media Kit Update includes the products available as of September, 2006. Kits will begin shipping September 10, 2006 and will contain the following products.
Solaris 10 (Update 2) SPARC, X86/AMD 64
Included is all Sun's server-side software:

- The N1 Management Software including the Sun N1 System Manager, the Sun N1 Service Provisioning System, the Sun N1 Grid Engine;
- All tools for C, C++ and Java development, including Sun Studio 11, Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 and Sun Java Studio Creator;

Other Important Information
- Updates: The Sun Education Software (EduSoft) Academic Edition Media Kit subscription is designed so that when any of the standard products included in this kit change or are revised, you'll automatically receive the new version in your next update. For your subscription, you can expect to receive three update kits, one approximately every three months.
- License Keys, Certificates or Serial Numbers: In some cases, the software requires a license key or serial number to use. These are included in the kit as license cards or certificates (sometimes in sealed envelopes). Please keep these with the software.
- Free Promotions: In most updates, various free promotions and sample
software will be available at no obligation.
Customs and Duties Charges
It is Sun's policy to ship the EduSoft Academic Edition media kit under the terms (DDP) Deliver Duties Paid. Sometimes, for reasons outside of Sun's control, some Education customers have incorrectly been charged customs and duties. Please let the carrier know that Sun has already paid for these charges. If you require supporting documentation from Sun please send email to us.
Software Support Services
Sun Developer Expert Assistance. Through the Sun Developer Expert Assistance program, you can get such help as:
- Diagnostic advice
- Sanity check on coding approach
- Workarounds to current problems
- Best practice guidance
- Pointers to relevant sample applications and documentation that address the issue
To purchase Standard or Premium Support Service for the Software, you must first purchase a separate Entitlement to the Software. Sun will not provide Service to You for Software provided under this Entitlement.
