UltraSPARC Performance

UltraSPARC Performance

The 1.3 GHz UltraSPARC IIIi processor, with 1MB Level 2 cache, enhances the processing power and compute density of the network, enabling higher levels of performance to customers and employees.

Suitable applications

A high-performance integrated processor, the UltraSPARC IIIi processor is used with a wide range of applications. Its RISC architecture and VIS technology make it ideally suited for compute servers and embedded applications in telecommunications and imaging. Support for VIS is the means to accelerate multimedia, networking encryption, and Java processing.

Telco Reliability

Built for rough environments

Being NEBS Level 3-certified (DC version only) or NEBS Level 3-compliant (AC version), Netra 210 servers are designed to deliver continuous operation in earthquake Zone 4 environments and comply with regulations for deployment in central office environments. Certification also means that Netra 210 servers have passed tests showing that they can tolerate extremes of temperature and humidity, operate in environments filled with dust, pollutants, or other air contaminants, and retard fire and resist other electrical hazards.

Dry Contact Alarms

The Netra 210 server gives you four programmable alarms: Critical, Major, Minor, and User. Critical, Major, and Minor alarms denote corresponding system states, and the User alarm is user-definable. This lets telco operators, for example, use a relay to signal fault conditions to a rack or control room panel and an alarm monitoring system.

Low Cost of Ownership

Saving space saves money

Netra 210 servers are often sold in volume. It's a space-efficient 2-processor, 1 rack unit, 19.1-inch deep form factor, which means high compute density. Density maximizes the power and value of each rack space. At the same time, the Netra 210 server has ample room for cable management. This greatly simplifies tracing cables, reading labels, and switching equipment. It saves time, reduces errors, and boosts uptime, which help cut the cost of ownership and grow your return on investment.

Serviceability that saves

Front- and back-side system LEDs save time in rack rows. Two hot-swappable, front accessible 73GB hard disk drives during service. And the flexible rackmount kit makes maintenance easier. Smart serviceability features, even small ones, extend your ROI over time.

Easy remote management

Advanced Lights Out Manager (ALOM) monitors and reports system and component status from a single console via a network or serial connection--reducing the overall cost of system management.

Web server software included

Sun Java Enterprise System Software v4 is pre-loaded for a 90-day free trial of Sun's complete, reliable, and secure Web server solution.

Leverage the Netra platform, go places

Available at an affordable, entry-level price, the carrier-grade design of the Netra 210 server delivers SPARC/Solaris reliability, availability, and security with cost-effective, ruggedized packaging. In addition, the Netra 210 server is ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) compliant.
