Overview

OpenSolaris OS and NetBeans IDE 6.1 are now available to download. We're pretty excited about these products, but we want to know what you, the student developers, think.

OpenSolaris is a full-featured OS with compelling software features such as ZFS, Dynamic Tracing (DTrace), Predictive Self-Healing and Solaris Containers, and it is built to give student developers like you a risk-free platform to quickly build, test, troubleshoot and deploy your innovations.

In the latest 6.1 release, the award-winning NetBeans IDE has cool new features for developing AJAX web applications using JavaScript technology and delivers tighter integration with MySQL database.

Download the OpenSolaris OS and/or NetBeans IDE 6.1. Check it out for yourself. After you have a chance to test one or both the products, we want you to tell the world what you think.

Whatever your experience is in using the OpenSolaris OS and/or NetBeans IDE 6.1, post a review about it and let us know. Our judges will review all submissions and select the winners. And here is how it is going to work...

The contest will have two groups: one for students who are not Sun Campus Ambassadors, and another comprising Sun Campus Ambassadors. For each group, there will be a grand prize of $250 in Visa Debit Card, and 5 second prizes of $100 each in Visa Debit Card.

All the submissions will be highlighted in Sun's Student Views and Reviews site, so participate for the fun and increased traffic to your site as well!
