The Sun StorEdge 3900 series eliminates the guesswork of integration associated with many conventional SAN products. With performance optimized for I/O intensive applications exceeding 64 KB, the Sun StorEdge 3900 series is ideal for the data-intensive applications that characterize high performance computing.
Based on proven products, including Sun's StorEdge T3 array, fibre channel switches, storage service processor, and optional "call-home" functionality, the Sun StorEdge 3900 provides a ready-made solution for high performance computing applications. - Rapid deployment — Factory-integrated and pre-tested systems reduce installation time and cost. Preconfigured RAID storage eliminates the need to spend hours formatting the storage system. Experienced Sun-trained systems engineers are available to help ensure proper installation.

Sun StorEdge Tape Libraries
Sun offers several media storage options for HPTC applications, including:
- Sun StorEdge L6000 tape library — A high performance, high capacity, enterprise class tape library for the largest, most demanding tape storage applications, the Sun StorEdge L6000 tape library can accommodate from 2000 - 6000 slots sizes (holding up to 120 TB overall) per silo. Overall, up to 24 silos can be connected for a maximum capacity of 144,000 cartridges. The Sun StorEdge L6000 tape library accommodates T9840 and T9940 tape drives from StorageTek, as well as 18- and 36-track technology. Offering an excellent complement for SunFire15K servers, Sun Enterprise 10000 servers, and Sun StorEdge 9900 series storage systems, the Sun StorEdge L6000 Tape Library can be managed from a single Sun Ultra 10 workstation.
- Sun StorEdge L700 Tape Library — A large-capacity, fast-access tape backup and restore solution for data centers, the Sun StorEdge L700 system offers the fastest access time of any tape library in our line. The Sun StorEdge L700 system can back up data sources up to 3.5 TB, overnight. The Sun StorEdge 700 Tapoe library is extremely compact, able to fit standard 19-inch racks, and is built with easy-to-service, hot swappable components.
