Supported software
The software requirements for cPCI cards are a superset of Sun's current PCI adapter offerings. By using the same driver, Sun is able to minimize the support/sustaining of these adapters. The key cPCI-related software requirements include:
Single driver for both PCI and CompactPCI
Support of Solaris[tm] 8 Operating System (such as IPv6)
Full hot-swap capabilities, including dynamic reconfiguration
Support for the Solaris Operating Environment hot-swap controller
