Yes. Jumbo Frame support can reduce the overhead associated with handling Ethernet packets. By sending and receiving larger packets (up to 9216 bytes) versus standard Ethernet packets of 1518 bytes, fewer packets are needed, resulting in a potential increase in throughput and a reduction in CPU utilization.

The drivers for Solaris x86 are designed for version 9 update 6 of the OS. There are a small number of features presently not supported on the Solaris x86 platform including: Sun Trunking, Jumbo Frames, Multi Data Transmit, and Net Boot.
