Sun PCIe Dual Port Quad Data Rate InfiniBand Host Channel Adapters and Dual Data Rate Fabric Expansion Module

The Sun family of PCIe Quad Data Rate (QDR) InfiniBand Host Channel Adapters (HCAs) give you better price/performance for both throughput and low latency. They are designed for servers supporting the PCI Express 2.0 specification with either the low-profile or modular hot-pluggable PCI Express (PCIe) ExpressModule form factors. Complementing the solution is the Sun Dual Data Rate (DDR) Fabric Expansion Module (FEM) HCA which provides the blade server modules with connectivity to in-chassis InfiniBand switches.

At a Glance

  • Support for three form factors: Low Profile PCIe adapters, hot-pluggable PCIe ExpressModules, and Fabric Expansion Modules for Sun Fire and Sun Blade servers
  • Choice of InfiniBand Host Channel Adapters for Sun's rackmount and blade servers
  • High-performance 10 GB/sec, 20 GB/sec, and 40 GB/sec interconnected server clusters
  • Optimize performance of your compute and database clusters
  • Enable the full performance of Sun's PCIe servers and blades (up to 80 GB/sec, full-duplex bandwidth)
  • Industry's lowest latency data link at data rates up to 40 GB/sec
  • Field-upgradable firmware
