Step 1: Inspection
Prior to integration, major components are inspected. Revision levels
are screened to meet field serviceability requirements.
|
| |
 |
Step 2: Traceability
Serial numbers are bar code scanned and recorded at both the system and
component level to provide traceability during testing, throughout all
factory processing, and after customer installation.
|
| |
 |
Step 3: Build and Test
Sun's proprietary testing procedures are an integral part of the
assembly process, and all systems must pass these demanding tests before
moving on to the next step in the process.
|
| |
 |
Step 4: Quality Control and Serialization
Upon successful completion of system tests, each system receives a new
serial number, and all corresponding internal component serial numbers
for that unit are recorded and documented to ensure quality and
traceability for each system.

Step 5: Safety, Final Inspection, and Pack Out
A Safety test (Hipot) done at this stage, and, then, all products are
given a final visual inspection. All Sun remanufactured products are
packed in new packaging material that is prequalified to OEM standards
for safe shipment.
