Lower Upfront Costs
Leasing reduces initial capital investment costs, enabling institutions to implement additional new technology sooner. Instead of using scarce capital dollars and employing a slow, phased-in implementation, you use readily available operating funds to enable a fast, broad implementation. Lease payments can be structured to match your funding requirements or budget allocation cycles.
In addition, asset management is simplified because the equipment can be returned either upon a mid-term technology update or at the end of the lease term.

Sun Programs

Fair Market Value Lease
Select this alternative when you want to minimize your expenses, and ownership is not a primary consideration.
A Fair Market Value (FMV) lease allows you to transfer the economic risk of ownership to Sun. Flexible end-of-term options can be exercised at the conclusion of the lease with the exclusive option to purchase the equipment for its "then fair market value." Or, you may continue leasing the equipment at an FMV lease rate, or return the equipment to Sun without any further obligation.
An FMV lease allows you to defer the purchase decision until the end of the lease term, rather than upon issuance of the order and delivery of the system.
Lease To Purchase Plan
Select this alternative when you want to own the asset but lack sufficient funds up front.
A Lease To Purchase allows you to acquire Sun equipment and spread the purchase price over the term of the lease, typically 24 to 48 months. During the lease term Sun will grant you the flexibility of prepaying the remainder of the lease payments at a discounted amount. As with all lease plans, the Lease to Purchase Plan requires less money available initially to achieve your institution's goals.
Technology Refreshment Lease
Any of our Sun leases may include a provision for updating the technology during the lease term. This is usually done in conjunction with the FMV Lease. SMGFS and Sun Sales Representatives will meet with you at any time changed conditions warrant new solutions from a systems or contractual perspective.
