The X6270 server module's two Intel Xeon processor 5500 series CPUs use Intel QuickPath Architecture, which integrates the memory controller directly onto each processor die. Intel's high-speed QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) is used to connect the two processors. QPI can reach a data transfer rate up to 6.4GT/s (25.6GB/s) per link., which is about 300% greater bandwidth than other interconnect solutions.
