Choice of Cooling Technology
For a refrigerant gas cooling solution, Sun also offers the Sun Cooling Door 5600 System. By offering two cooling technologies to choose from--unique in the industry--Sun makes long-term planning easier.

Chilled Water Cooling
The Sun Cooling Door 5200 System removes heat generated by the Sun Blade 6048 Modular System, using chilled water from any appropriate source that can maintain a controlled temperature and flow rate. The Sun Cooling Door System leverages the air movement generated by the blade chassis fans, removing heat with no additional fans or electricity.
Sun recommends that customers contact Sun Professional Services (or one of our partners) to determine the most appropriate cooling strategy and plan a deployment.
Sun Blade 6048 Modular System Support
The Sun Cooling Door 5200 System is an excellent cooling solution for the Sun Constellation System, the world's first open petascale computing environment. The cooling door system attaches to the back of the Sun Blade 6048 Chassis, which runs up to 48 Sun Blade server modules (up to 1152 processing cores) per rack, for up to 11 teraflops of performance.
