The Sun SPARC Enterprise T2000 server delivers up to 32 simultaneous execution threads and 64 GB memory in a rack-optimized 2RU enclosure drawing typically 275 watts of power, or roughly one-third that of other systems in its class.

Sun servers with CoolThreads technology deliver the highest levels of throughput in the lowest space and power envelope. Running up to 32 threads concurrently on a simple, 8 core processor serves to dramatically increase throughput while reducing power consumption, raising throughput per watt, and reducing power and heat demands on the data center. With a 32-thread processor consuming just slightly more wattage than a household light bulb, the Sun servers with CoolThreads technology are by far the new energy-efficient standard in enterprise computing.

Software applications written to the Solaris Application Binary Interface can run on new UltraSPARC T1-based systems without modification. There's no need to port applications to take advantage of the Sun SPARC Enterprise T2000 server's features. The Solaris Application Guarantee ensures it.
