Sun Fire T1000 Server
Before You Get Your System
Step 1. Test Your Application's Compatibility for Coolthreads
CoolThreads Selection Tool (coolts) applies simple algorithms and rules
to determine whether a workload from one platform is a reasonable
candidate for Sun Fire T2000/T1000 servers.
Step 2. Download the installation guide
The installation guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up your new system. It covers required tools, set-up procedures, and details on the proper
use of the revolutionary Sun Fire T1000 CoolThreads server.
Please see Chapter 13 of the following Solaris Network Installation
Guide to learn how to install Solaris over a Wide Area Network. As the
Sun Fire T1000 Server does not support the attachment of external CD/DVD
devices, this guide should be used if the system requires a
re-installation of Solaris:

Once your system has arrived, you can begin the set-up process and prepare to unleash the amazing performance of the Sun Fire T1000 server. Make sure you have downloaded all the resource documents listed above before you start.
Step 1. Visit the Sun Fire T1000 Server Documentation Web site
The Sun Fire T1000 Server Documentation site provides all the technical documents you need to successfully set up and install your system.
Step 2. Review the Getting Started Guide
The Getting Started Guide is a high level overview of how to set-up the system, to be used in conjunction with the documents shown on the Sun Fire T1000 Server Documentation site.
Step 3. Check for recommended updates
Obtain the latest Solaris updates to optimize the performance of your Sun Fire CoolThreads server. You must apply these updates to achieve the required levels of throughput offered by the Sun Fire CoolThreads servers.
Step 4. Reboot your system
If you are not a developer, skip steps 5 and 6. If you are a developer, downloading the following updates will give you the most complete and advanced tools available from any single vendor.
Step 5. Review the latest tuning information
The latest tuning information is provided in these videos to help you get the most out of your CoolThreads server.
Step 6. Download the compiler tools
Improve productivity with intuitive, easy-to-use tools. Develop innovative applications more quickly using the latest compilers.
Step 7. Download the Open Source binaries
Develop on the most powerful, enterprise-ready open software by downloading the most recent open source binaries
Step 8. Run the application
You may even be able to increase performance with further optimization by referencing tuning documents for specific applications that you are running. For further assistance, and more technical/migration resources see the migration resources.

If hardware support is required, please contact your local country support number and provide
