Software Updates
Register your system and obtain the latest Solaris updates to optimize the performance of your Sun Fire CoolThreads server. To update your Sun Fire T1000 or T2000.
Graphical: Launch the Sun Update Connection icon on your Solaris 10 desktop to register your system and select the Patch Collection Sun Fire T1000/T2000 Recommended Patches to obtain the latest Solaris updates. When prompted during registration, please leave the contract number field blank and proceed.
Command-line (Not available on T2000 running Solaris 10 HW2):
Register your system with the Sun Update Connection:
- Copy
/usr/lib/breg/data/RegistrationProfile.properties to /tmp/myreg.profile and edit this file to add your user name, password, and if necessary, a network proxy
- Run:
sconadm register -a -r /tmp/myreg.profile
Update your system:
smpatch set patchpro.patchset=sftxksmpatch analyze (shows list of patches)smpatch update (installs all needed patches)
