Can the Sun Customer Ready program integrate customer-provided software?
A:
Yes. There are two levels of
customer-provided software integration.
- Sun manufacturing can load the applications and data from a customer's "gold disk" (a disk which contains customer-specific software) onto the new server.
- The Sun Customer Ready program also provides a service to organize the file structure of the data to a customer's specific requirements, to configure the hardware drivers and controllers, and to set up the software to meet the production setup required by the customer.

The Sun Customer Ready program offers the following service and support options:
- Server and Array Start Installation: Because initial integration is handled in the factory, Sun can offer Sun Customer Ready program customers the option of Custom installation services. For rack-mounted server and storage units, these customized installation services are an inexpensive means of deploying Sun Customer Ready program solutions while maintaining Sun expertise on-site to ensure smooth deployments.
- SunSpectrum Support: Sun Spectrum support from Sun Services provides in-warranty and post-warranty service coverage for Sun hardware, the Solaris Operating System, and bundled and embedded Sun software. Coverage can include technical support and on-site service, software releases, account management services, system monitoring, and expanded online technical resources. Flexible levels of support allow customers to choose a level of assistance that meets their unique requirements.
- Third-Party Product Support: Unless otherwise stated by Sun, post-sales support, warranty, and other claims for third–party products should be addressed with the original manufacturer. Sun Services can typically offer additional levels of support for integrated solutions, including single–point–of–contact agreements, through Sun Managed Services.
