Q:
I know my archiving needs are small just now, but over the next three years they will grow exponentially. Can you still help?
A:
Yes. Buy the system you need now and add disk or tape modules as you need them. You can even scale well beyond the predefined configurations by adding Sun's tape libraries and tape drive technology behind the Sun Customer Ready Infinite Archive System to give you petabytes of storage while still being intelligently managed by SAM and QFS software.

Q:
The largest system holds approximately 160 TB of data, I'm going to need a lot more than that.
A:
No problem. We can cluster the preconfigured systems up to an 8-way system that provides 1 petabyte of flat data space. If you will need more than that just contact your local account manager about growing beyond the initial configurations to add multiple petabytes of storage capacity.

Q:
I've already got a large Sun StorageTek silo in my datacenter and I really don't need a proliferation of tape devices. What do I do?
A:
You order a "tape-ready" version of the Sun Customer Ready Infinite Archive System — providing multiple tiers of high performance disk storage, economy disk storage, or both, tailored to your requirements, and utilize your existing tape storage infrastructure for your Tier 3 storage needs. Couldn't be simpler!

Q:
Does the Sun Customer Ready Infinite Archive System really arrive ready to run in my datacenter?
A:
Absolutely! The servers are racked and cabled to a production standard in Sun's factory, all software is installed and the complete system is thoroughly tested before shipping so that it arrives ready to run at the customer. We do recommend a short period of acclimatization but after that the systems will perform "out of the box"!
