Device Drivers for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1
The Sun Fire V60x and Sun Fire V65x servers have been certified as compatible when running the Red Hat 2.4.9-e.12 kernel or later, along with updated drivers. To use Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1 with the Sun Fire V60x or Sun Fire V65x servers, installation of the latest updated drivers is required.

The drivers for many kernels are supplied on this download site for your convenience. However, we recommend that you use those for the Red Hat 2.4.9-e.12 or later kernel, because only those have been qualified.

The instructions for installing these drivers are included in the procedures in the "Sun Fire V60x and Sun Fire V65x Linux Operating System Installation Guide," (817-1956). This guide is available PDF format. Download here.
Server Management for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1
We now offer support for the Intel IPMI server management utilities, run with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1. Please accept the license agreement and download the new packages for use with this operating system. Procedures for installing and using the server management utilities are identical to use with Red Hat 7.3 Please refer the "Sun Fire V60x and Sun Fire V65x Server Management Guide" for further information.

Installation Information for Red Hat Linux 7.2 Users
There is no official support for Red Hat Linux 7.2 on the SunFire V60x/V65x servers. To assist customers who can support themselves, Sun offers an installation whitepaper and associated files. The files include device driver examples and a NeoPXE support package of drivers plus a stage 2 image

For optimal performance, an update to the BIOS for your Sun Fire V60x or Sun Fire V65x server is recommended. Included in this package is an update to microcode and bug fixes. The instructions for installing the update is in the readme file that is included in the download.
Sun Fire V60x/V65x Server HSC firmware update
(June 10, 2004)
Support has been added for the SE7501WV2 server board. When installed with the board the HSC will report a product ID in the IPMI Get Device ID command

Seagate Firmware 0507 Update (November 13, 2003)
For optimal performance, an update to your Seagate drive firmware for your Sun Fire V60x or Sun Fire V65x server is recommended. Included in this update are support for Intel RAID SRCZCR and bug fixes, including a fix for heavy activity modes with high queue depth sequential drive writes or reads.
