Solaris 8 2/02 Installation Instructions:
Dynamic Reconfiguration for hsPCI Assemblies and Max CPU Boards on
Sun Fire 15K/12K Servers
Use the following procedure to install the Slot 0 and Slot 1 DR enhancements on domains running Solaris 8 2/02, even if those domains already have the Slot 0 changes installed. Note that the system controller (SC) must be running SMS 1.3 software.
Note - When installing patches, if you find a later version on SunSolve -- that is, a patch with a higher-numbered suffix -- use that version instead of the one shown below. The links patches provided in the installation instructions take you to the latest version.
- Make sure the Solaris 8 2/02 software is properly installed on the domain.
For additional information about installing Solaris software, refer to the Solaris 8 2/02 Installation Roadmap (Sun part number 816-2582-10).
- If the following Solaris patches or latest patch revisions have not already been installed, install them now, in the order shown.
One way to check whether a patch has been installed is to use the following
command: showrev -p | grep patchid

- If your system is configured with Sun GigaSwift Ethernet (ce) drivers, determine whether Patch 111883-14 has been installed.
One way to check is with the command, modinfo | grep ce. If the patch is not on the domain, install it now if you wish.
- If your system is configured with Sun StorEdge SAN 4.0/4.1 software and firmware, determine if the latest upgrades have been installed.
If these upgrades have not been installed, install them now if you wish. For more information, see http://www.sun.com/storagetek/networking.jsp.
- Reboot the domain after all the patches are installed.
