Sun Netra X4250 Server Power Calculator

Based on the Intel Xeon Processor - low-power, quad-core - the carrier-grade Sun Netra X4250 server combines cutting-edge performance with the ruggedness and reliability of the Sun Netra server family. The energy-efficient system can expand up to an eight-way confguration, all in a compact, 20 inch-deep, 2 RU footprint.

The intent of the power calculator is to provide guidance for estimating the electrical and heat loads for typical operating conditions. It should not be used to calculate power or HVAC requirements. Instead, please use the appropriate site planning guide to allow for proper allowances.

You MUST allow electrical and cooling headroom for unforeseen circumstances, component upgrades, and increased computational loads. Please allow for worst-case power conditions. Actual power consumption will vary from the sample workload used in the power calculator. These include, but are not limited to, the factors below. Each of these factors may cause significant differences in power consumption:

  • Actual workload and its fluctuations
  • Ambient temperature
  • Cooling patterns
  • Excessive inlet temperature
  • Humidity
  • Operating systems features
  • Power management settings

The "Sample Power" results shown below (if using 100% workload) represent Server power consumption measurements with CPUs at 100% utilization running SPECjbb2005. Telco applications may consume more power than the workload used in this calculator. If shown for this calculator, the "Active Idle Power" results below represent power consumption measurements taken from Servers with Operating Systems booted and stabilized, yet running at minimal utilization. Sample results shown are representative of measurements taken with room temperatures between 23-28°C and are not indicative of worst-case power consumption in a harsh NEBS environment. System power can vary depending upon Hardware/Software configurations and environmental conditions. For precise results, actual measurements based upon the exact Hardware/Software/Environmental conditions are recommended.

Configure your Netra X4250 Server system and calculate your Sun server total power consumption!
