For the latest updates and installation instructions, please see the Product Notes. This release supports Solaris 10 5/08 Operating System, Red Hat 4 U5 64-bit, and Windows Server 2003 operating systems.
Also included are the Hard Drive Monitor Utility (HD utility) and Disk Control and Monitor Utility (DCM utility). Copies have been pre-installed on your server.
The HD Utility is designed to determine the logical-to-physical device mapping of the Sun Fire X4540 Server, for Solaris Operating System, Linux and Windows.
The DCM Utility (DCMU) is available for Red Hat 4 U5 and SLES 10 SP1 operating systems. Similar functionality is implemented in Solaris Fault Management Architecture (FMA). This utility contains the following features:
- Monitor and report HOTPLUG EVENTS to Service Processor(SP)
- Report pending drive failures to SP
- Manage or manipulate drives and report actions to SP
- Report drive FRU information to ILOM
