Sun provides contractual support on the Solaris OS for five years from the product End of Life (EOL) date as follows:
Table 1: Phase Descriptions |
| Phase |
Support Level |
| Phase 1 (Years 1 & 2 After Last Ship Date) |
Phase 1 support will provide contract customers with full remedial support, accepting requests for enhancements and cosmetic bugs. Patches will be created as needed, and recommended SunAlert Patch Clusters will be maintained through the end of Phase 1. You will continue to receive the same level of support that you received before the product End-Of-Lifed. |
|
| Phase 2 (Years 3, 4 & 5 After Last Ship Date) |
Contract customers will continue to receive online and telephone support and have access to pre-existing Solaris SW updates. Pre-existing means Solaris SW updates created prior to start of Phase 2. Sun currently offers Solaris 8 Vintage Patch Service during this phase 2, allowing customer to extend their coverage on Solaris 8. |
