Announcement Summary

The RAS Profile Service is being discontinued. The End of Life announcement is being driven by Sun's recent knowledge management technology and delivery methodology changes. HA Packs and selected Site Support engagements also include RAS Profile Services. Contractually entitled customers will continue to receive their service fulfillment for these standalone and bundled service offerings until their entitlement ends.

The SunSpectrum Service Plan customer base where there is a valid SunSpectrum Platinum or SunSpectrum Gold contract with a line-item for RAS Profile Service, HA-PAK or selected Site Support engagements.

Questions and Answers

Q.After the technology changes will the RAS Profile Service deliverables be the same?
A. The RAS Profile Service will utilize the new Sun Risk Analysis System reports, workflow and site survey and updated best practices. The report formats will changes with the technology but the valuable results will be consistent with the deliverables in the RAS Profile Service Listing description.

Q. If a customer has a multi-year contract that includes RAS Profile Service will they still receive the service for the duration of the contract?
A. Yes. Sun will continue to deliver the contract RAS Profile Service for the duration of the customer's multi-year contract according to the specifications of the RAS Profile Service Listing.

Q. If a customer has purchased an HA Pack or Site Support contract inclusive of RAS Profile Service, will the service be continued for the entitled contract period?
A. Yes. The service will be delivered within these service bundles and engagements until the end of the current contract period.

Q.How are customers informed about this announcement?
A. Customers will be notified via email and/or physical mail.

Q.Who at the customer will be notified through the mailing?
A. All commercial and SW contacts of the effected support contracts.

Q.What parts are effected by this announcement?
A. RAS-PROFILE, all HA-xxx-PAK parts and selected SITE-SUPPORT parts. Check with the local sales executive for RAS Profile entitlement as part of a SITE-SUPPORT contract.

Q.Are all these services being discontinued?
