Announce Date
Announcement Summary Historically, Sun has offered to its customers documentation in hardcopy format for purchase. With the explosion of the World Wide Web, as well as the electronic offerings of Solaris OS documentation by Sun, purchases of these sets have dropped significantly. Due to the extreme high cost in printing such low quantities and Sun customers stating their preference for on-line documentation, Sun is announcing the transition of all Solaris OS hardcopy documentation sets per Sun's standard end-of-life process. However, even though this announcement includes a Last Order Date, some of the sets may be out of print before that date. Sun asks that customers whom need these out-of-print documents to choose one of the alternatives outlined in this document in Section 7: "Replacement Product(s)". Key Dates
Intended Audience(s) The Solaris OS is the ideal solution for customers whom are building IT infrastructure for a wide variety of purposes, from new multi-tier, web-enabled e-commerce applications to scientific and technical packages, from the center of the datacenter to the edge of the network and even the desktop.
