Sun�s lifecycle services provide a continuum of expertise, technology, and global coverage for assessing your needs, designing, deploying, and managing your Java ES solutions.

Java Enterprise System customers receive online and telephone technical support along with online training as part of purchase. In addition, based on the number of employees, qualified customers receive additional training and professional services, summarized below.

Professional Services

Professional Services assist customers with evaluating, architecting, implementing, and managing solutions based on Java ES. Custom services can address customers' needs in different phases of their lifecycle and could include:
  • Assessment
  • Architecture
  • Implementation
  • System health check
  • System tuning

These services can give you predictability, helping to reduce the risk and cost of your Java ES deployment


Educational Services

Educational Services include online eLearning and for eligible customers, training credits. The credits can be used to purchase courseware and other learning services from Sun's comprehensive portfolio of learning products, helping you reduce complexity and optimize your Java Enterprise System investment. Eligible customers receive between 10 to 50 General Education Account training credits with each Java Enterprise System purchase. Each training credit is worth US $1,000. Sun provides training through an array of learning methods, including instructor-led, Web-based, and CD-ROM courses.

*Note, training credits are not included in the Java System Suites however training for these products may be purchased separately.


Support Services

Support Services are included as part of the license for Sun Java Enterprise System or Sun Java System Suites. Sun provides online and telephone technical support through Sun Software Service Plans.
These services include:
  • Online or telephone access to support 12x5
  • Unlimited technical support incidents
  • Ability to rate the priority of the support requests
  • Incident tracking through the Sun Online Support Center
  • 7x24 access to online technical knowledge database

Access to Sun's support engineers will help ensure that your system is running smoothly and that any problems or questions can be addressed quickly. If you need 7x24 support with faster response times, you can upgrade your Java ES subscription to the Sun Premium Software Support Plan for an additional per employee, per year fee. If you have 5,000 or more employees with complex, mission critical implementations, an upgrade to the Sun Software Premium Plus Plan is available for an additional per employee, per year fee.
