To Enable Auto Service Request (ASR)

NAS OS Software download:

  1. Login to the Sun StorageTek NAS OS Web Admin Console.
  2. In the navigation pane, expand System Operations and choose Online System Registration
  3. Complete the Tab for Sun Online Account and password.
  4. Complete the Tab for Proxy Server. Only needed If your connection uses a proxy server, fill out the Proxy Host Name and Proxy Port. If you need to enable Proxy Authentication, supply a user name and password.
  5. Complete the Options Tab, select Send Heartbeat DATA and Send Fault Events
  6. Read the Purpose Statement.
  7. Click OK to submit the request.
  8. An email will be sent advising the specified contacts in the site info of the ASR activation status.
  9. Once registered the Online System Registration will reflect that the device is now Registered.

Sun Shared Shell: Software that allows Sun Service Engineers, under the customer's control, to remotely view and diagnose the customer's Sun products. The Sun Shared Shell tool is a Java application that provides secure, shared, remote access to a shell session viewed by both the customer and the Sun Service Engineer at the same time.
